Brome Compost is proud to have developed a privileged relationship with Pyrolator Power Limited in order to offer its composting systems to their clients on the African continent. Through this partnership, their clientele can benefit from the Brome Compost team’s experience in setting up efficient composting systems adapted to the needs of larger scale projects, with the goal of:

  • Transforming a wide range of organic matter and residues into a rich soil amendment
  • Reducing the costs of eliminating organic residues (landfilling) and controlling carbon footprints
  • Controlling risks surrounding pathogens thanks to thermophilic composting (when parameters are respected, temperatures of 55°C à 70°C are attained) and odour management.
  • Promoting self-sufficiency for smaller regions and territories
  • Proposing custom solutions that can be adapted according to future growth and needs.

Pyrolator Power (PPL) is a Tanzanian company formed in 2016 that aims to outsource environmentally friendly technologies from Canada and the USA to Africa in order to address challenges related to the environment, power scarcity, infrastructure, as well as agricultural and water issues facing developing African countries.

Working with very cost-effective technologies, many of PPL’s projects seek to convert municipal solid waste into several sustainable products such as biofuel, power and compost. PPL is actively pursuing projects in Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, and Kenya with the goals of:

  • Improving public health and the environment by reducing emissions and ground water contamination
  • Using waste to produce compost or biofuel and thereby eliminating landfilling
  • Creating employment, promoting sustainable economic development, renewable energy and tourism
